American Coin Treasures Lincoln Wheat and Memorial Penny Collections 1934-1958 and 1959-2008 Certificate of Authenticity

Brenner designed the Lincoln Cent which was issued in 1909 to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of Lincoln's birth. In 1959 Frank Gasparro designed a new reverse featuring the Lincoln Memorial to commemorate 150th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. From 1959-1981 the Lincoln Memorial Pennies were minted of 95% copper & 5% zinc. In 1982 the composition changed to 99.2% zinc and .8% copper. Lincoln penny was the first cent to have the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST". Because the Lincoln Penny has been in circulation for so many years, the obverse image on this coin now has the distinction of having been reproduced on more coins than any design in history. The last twenty-five years of the Lincoln wheat-ear penny meet in our unique collection. Designed by Victor Brenner in honor of the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth and first to display the image of an actual person, this historical penny was introduced in 1909. Ours are dated from 1934 to 1958. This exquisite collection includes the rare and beautiful Lincoln Steel Penny which was only minted in the year 1943 as copper was needed for the war effort. With the exception of the 1943 Lincoln Steel Cent, these Lincoln wheat-ear pennies were minted of 95% copper. Includes a certificate of authenticity.
