Robust Deadlatch, Flat Faceplate, 1-1/8 In. Backset, 2-5/8 In. Flat Mortised Strike for Center Hung 4 In. Jamb, RH or LHR, Satin Aluminum. The 4900 Series Deadlatches provide adaptable traffic control and installation. A key's reverse turn, while the bolt is held retracted, retains the bolt, enabling two-way traffic for applications needing free entrance at specific times and exit-only at others. It's interchangeable with any MS1850A or MS1850S deadbolt of the same backset and faceplate shape, and it can also retrofit existing 4500/4700 Deadlatch preparations. Its steel case features corrosion-resistant plating, and screw-fastened tube spacer brackets allow for clean removal when tab mounting. The solid brass latch bolt is easily reversible using just a screwdriver, and a stainless steel auxiliary latch pin deadlocks the latch bolt to prevent unauthorized entry. Both flat and radius faceplates are supplied, with flat faceplates adjustable for right or left beveled edge doors. The standard strike is 4902 for flat jambs where doors close flush or nearly flush; specify 4901 for retrofit installations. Also available are radius strikes for opposite stiles in paired doors and long lip strikes for center hung doors. Turn the key or operate the handle or paddle to retract the spring-loaded latch bolt. To hold the bolt retracted, push it in and secure it with a reverse key turn. It uses any standard mortise cylinder with an MS cam and is available in three cylinder backsets: 31/32 In., 1-1/8 in., and 1-1/2 in. It's individually boxed with Flat and Radius Faceplates, Strike, and machine screws for mounting. Order cylinders, paddle, handle, or latch pull separately.
